Ed Baker’s love for all things electric and his love of boating makes marine electrics a good fit. After being raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and then moving to Utah, he spent many years on the lakes in the summers. In the winter, he served on the National Ski Patrol in Park City, Utah, and as a guide for Diamond Peaks Heliski Adventures. He moved from the mountains to the sea in 2014 when he served as Captain/Engineer on an 80-foot catamaran in Florida for 3 years.
Ed arrived back in California in 2017. He lives with his partner, Jeanie, on their 1985 S2 11C sailboat. They recently relocated their boat from the Vallejo Yacht Club in the San Francisco Bay Area to the Ventura Harbor. (Moguls, their dog-with-superpowers pictured here with Ed, sailed under the rainbow bridge in 2018 after 17-1/2 years serving as crew.)
"We are tied to the ocean. And when we go back to the sea, whether it is to sail or to watch it, we are going back from whence we came"
– John F. Kennedy, 1962 America's Cup Dinner
