If your wiring looks like this…

…call Ed. If you have ever bought a used boat, sail or power, or your friend has purchased a used boat, chances are you have seen the “rat’s nest” first hand.

Boats these days are made of fiberglass and composites, in other words, plastic. They last forever, literally. Over the years, different folks have worked on the wiring and electrical systems running new wires without going to the trouble to pull the old ones. They just “make it work.” And it does, for a while, maybe even years. Then it comes times to fix something and you decide to call a real marine electrician. You want it done right.

Good choice! The problem is, it may take many extra hours to fix the mistakes of the past. The truth is, if you want your boat to run well for years to come, it’s worth it to get it done right. If you are handy-dandy and have the time, you can even do some of the wire pulling yourself in preparation for an ABYC Certified marine electrician, like Ed, to wire it right. Once the work is complete, remember to ask for a printed wiring diagram to add to your boat manual. Even if you have a rat’s nest or two in other places on the boat, at least you’ll know exactly how the work done by a qualified marine electrician looks and what was done.

Then, it’s time to get out on the water! Call Ed at 435-655-1099 to talk about your project.
